Jacob van Rijs

Jacob van Rijs ( born in 1964 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch architect and partner in the office MVRDV, currently one of the world's most successful Dutch architecture offices in Rotterdam.

He studied from 1983 to 1984 at the Free Academy The Hague and from 1984 to 1990 at the Technical University of Delft. In 1991 he founded in Rotterdam together with Winy Maas and Nathalie de Vries the architectural firm MVRDV.

Jacob van Rijs has taught at various colleges and universities architecture, including at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam and at the Architectural Association London.
