Jacqueline Alex

Jacqueline Alex ( born December 1, 1965 in Zwickau ) is a former swimmer who competed for East Germany.

Career

Swimming career

In her adopted home Thuringian she trained from 1972 to 1985 at the sports club Turbine Erfurt. She won a number of national and international success. Among other things, she was European Youth champion in the 200m individual medley in 1980 in Skövde (Sweden). About 200 meters butterfly, she won in the GDR - 1984 Championships in third place and a year later the GDR champion. The European Champion title at the European Swimming Championships 1985 in Sofia 's 200m butterfly was their biggest success in international championships. In 1986, she was recognized for this success with the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.

Private career

Jacqueline Alex, married Kiewel, is a mother of three daughters. She lives with her family in Berlin, is a professional physiotherapist and owner of three practices for physiotherapy.
