Jacqueline Lichtenstein

Jacqueline Lichtenstein ( b. 1947 ) is a French philosopher and art historian. Since 2004 she is Professor of Philosophy of Art at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne. Previously, she was professor of aesthetics at the University of Berkeley, and from 1991 at the University of Paris X Nanterre. With Prof. Christian Michel, she works since 1996 on the publication of the conferences of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture.

Lichtenstein is concerned with color theory and the relationship between painting and sculpture. Among the objects of their research also includes the changes in the theory of art as a result of the emergence of aesthetics and art criticism.
