Jagdgeschwader 6 " Horst Wessel " (JG 6) was a unit of the Luftwaffe in World War II and was created in July 1944 by the renaming of the Destroyer Squadron 26 It was named after Horst Wessel as a member of the SA, a paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP, the February 23, 1930 was killed.

On 1 January 1945 the Group I of JG 6 was in Delmenhorst. On 1 January 1945 the group participated in the company base plate, an air offensive of the German Air Force on Allied front airfields in northern France, Holland and Belgium. The aim of the group was the Eindhoven airport in Holland, on the severe destruction caused. Shortly after this mission the group moved to the eastern front after Sorau and on 7 February 1945 after Freiwaldau. Already on 14 February, the group had to Cottbus and laid according Welzow on February 19.

The group II of JG 6 was early 1945 in Quakenbruck. On 1 January 1945 the group participated in the company bottom plate, aim of the group was the front airfield Volkel in Holland, where, however, only minor damage was caused. After this mission, the group moved to the eastern front after Sorau and on 10 February 1945 after Welzow.

The III. Group of JG 6 was early 1945 in Bissel near Oldenburg. On 1 January 1945 the group participated in the company bottom plate, aim of the group was the front airfield Volkel in Holland, where, however, only minor damage was caused. Shortly after this mission the group moved to the Eastern Front to Great - stone near Opole, from there on 21 January after Ohlau, a few days later after Sorau and on 10 February 1945 after Welzow south of Cottbus.
