Before 1945 the area was part of East Prussia. In the years 1975 to 1998, the town belonged administratively to the province of Elbląg. The old port of Jagodna as part of the Gulf of Elblag, appeared not officially on the list of the maritime authority. Since it is located in a bird sanctuary, the Office is not interested in a operation of the port for smaller sailboats or yachts.
