Jaibos Tampico Madero

The Tampico - Madero Fútbol Club is a Mexican football club that - at that time still under the name Club Deportivo Tampico - División 1945/46, together with the CF Monterrey and Club San Sebastián de León in the Primera, the top division of the Mexican association football, taken, after the FMF had decided the extension of the time fledgling pro league from previously 13 to currently 16 teams.

Prehistory

In November 1911 some Englishmen who had previously lived in Mexico City and played at the Reforma Athletic Club came for work reasons to Tampico to the Cia. Petrolera " El Aguila " work. Together with some workers of the oil refinery they established the first football club in the city and named it British Club; in reference to the capital of the same association, which was launched in 1902 by the football pioneer Percy Clifford and had won the championship in 1908. As many of its members were drafted into the British Army as a result of the fighting of the First World War, the team fell apart around 1915 and disappeared.

Around the same time arose from the numerically large Spanish community in Tampico early 1915 the CD Español de Tampico, from closed due to a between the Spanish municipalities of Mexico agreement soon the Club España de Tampico was. As 1917 was the existing almost entirely of Mexicans Club México founded, the cornerstone was laid for a serious rivalry, which for decades had stock.

1942, the best players from both teams combined in the Selección de Tamaulipas; named after a selected team of the State of Tamaulipas, de facto but a compilation of the two leading clubs Tampico for the purpose of comparison with other teams. The Selección de Tamaulipas formed the basis of the established with effect from March 15, 1945 CD Tampico, which was prepared for the professional league.

History

His first game in La Liga ( season 1945/46 ) played the CD Tampico to the next runner- Atlante ( final 3:10 ) with the following team: Raúl " Tarzán " Landeros - Escamilla, Cuétara - Teodolindo MOURIN, Olivares, Juan José Sosa - Fidel Menéndez, Ernesto Candia, Azuara, Cardín, Pego. First coach was " Noi " José Castro. Following the significant opening defeat in the old Campo España further players were signed and promoted the construction of the stadium, which was officially opened on 1 August 1946.

In their first season, the Celeste's lost twice as many games (18 ) than they won (9) and landed at the end of the season in 13th place. In the following two seasons Tampico took each a place in mid-table before the last place a low point was reached at the end of season 1948/49, which led to a radical change. For the rebuild also the former coach " Noi " Castro was brought back and finish the season 1949/50, occupied Tampico least tenth place. In the two following seasons step of rebuilding is progressing steadily and finished first (1950 /51) with a ninth, and then (1951 /52) with a sixth place. With the purchases before the season 1952/53, the leaders evidently made everything right; because the newly formed team won ( for the first and only time in the history of Fútbol Tampiqueño ) both the championship and the Super Cup.

One of the most outstanding new entries before the championship season was " Chango " Zárate, who joined immediately after winning the title to Marte and with this team again won the title, while Tampico finished the season 1953/54, in fourth place. After further disposals Celeste ended up in the following two years on the seventh (1954 /55) and sixth (1955 /56) place. The relapse into mediocrity was reason enough to separate from Joaquín Urquiaga, coach of the champion team of 1953, for those responsible. However, his expulsion was ultimately counter-productive, because the team crashed the following year to tenth place and two years later (1957 /58) the last place occupied and thus ( for the first time in club history ) in the Segunda División relegation.

In the second division Tampico then broke all records under coach Bela Kalloi were of 32 games won 28 and lost only one. The same dominance expressed goal difference of 117:31, to which the institution responsible before the season 1958/59 top scorer Antonio Persico had significant hits with 44 share.

After the immediate resurgence of the management required the striker Rolando Roberto and Ricardo Bonelli, who formed a class forward line along with Persico and Movers bestowed on the seventh rank. With 22 hits Rolando was even top scorer of La Liga 1959/60. Seventh place in the 1960/61 season could be defended and the Copa México are obtained ( for the first and only time in the club's history ). According to an eighth place in the 1961/62 season the decline, however, was unstoppable. For the second time after 1958 the team participated in the Final Table 1962/63 the last place and got down again.

Then took only times the adjacent CF Madero local dominance and brought between 1965 and 1975 at least four years league football in the region, giving the CD Tampico should succeed again until 1977. However, the return to the first division did not owe the CD Tampico its sporting achievements, but his sponsors, who acquired the Erstligalizenz of the financially strapped club San Luis for the club.

When the club in 1982 even had financial problems, which resulted in the descent, he was taken by the union of oil workers and converted into the Tampico - Madero FC. The new name was chosen to provide an identifier for the inhabitants of the neighboring Ciudad Madero. In the experiment the popularity expansion also was an advantage that the Estadio Tamaulipas is located halfway between the two neighboring cities. Luck had the new donors also by the fact that they could take over the Erstligalizenz the Atletas campesinos from Querétaro and the converted club escaped relegation sport in this way.

His most successful season saw the Tampico - Madero FC in the year before the 1986 World Cup, when the FMF converted at the upcoming major event of the regular league play in two short tournaments: the Prode 85 and Mexico 86 In both tournaments the club from Tampico reached the finals.

With just one point ahead of the relegated club Atlante of 1990 reached just barely the safe shore, had his license but now due to the lack of support by the oil workers' union at the Querétaro FC sell. The return to the top flight then succeeded only for the 1994 / 95th

Except for the seasons 2001/ 02 and 2005 /06 to 2008/ 09, when the club was represented at least in the sub-prime Primera División 'A', he has performed since then only in the Segunda División third-rate. In the 2000 /01 season won the championship of the Winter Tournament 2000 Segunda División under his then temporary designation Águilas de Tamaulipas.
