Jaime Enrique Duque Correa

Jaime Enrique Duque Correa MXY ( born April 4, 1943 in Medellín, † April 14, 2013 ibid ) was Bishop of El Banco.

Life

Jaime Enrique Duque Correa attended primary school at the Pontifical University Bolivariana and high school in the minor seminary of the Missionaries Javerianos de Yarumal. On the Major Seminary of Yarumal he studied philosophy and theology and joined the Congregation of the Missionaries Javerianos de Yarumal, put the profession on November 5, 1966, received on 2 July 1967, the ordination. He was from 1968 to 1973 director of the Pastoral Institute in Medellin and 1968-1969 missionary and school principal in Providencia. 1971/72 he taught at the Colegio Ferrini in Medellin. In 1973 he was master of novices in Yarumal and Buenaventura; 1975 to 1980 he worked in the Bolivian Potosí as a missionary diocese. After pastoral activities in Cotagaita and Talina he was from 1982 to 1984 Rector of the Minor Seminary of his order in Yarumal. From 1984 to 1990 he was assistant to the Superior General of the Missionaries Javerianos de Yarumal and its Secretary-General. From 1991 to 1995 he was a missionary in the Diocese of Machala in Ecuador and worked from 1994 to 1995 Coordinator of his order for the mission activities in Ecuador. In 2000 he took over the parish in Emaús in Medellin.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 17 January 2006 as Bishop of El Banco. The Apostolic Nuncio to Colombia, Beniamino Stella, consecrated him on 25 February of the same year the bishop; Alberto Giraldo Jaramillo were co-consecrators PSS, Archbishop of Medellín, and Antonio Bayter Abud MXY, Vicar Apostolic of Inírida.
