Jakob-Wassermann-Literaturpreis

The Jakob Wassermann Literature Prize is a literary prize, which was donated by the birthplace of Jakob Wassermann, the city of Fürth in memory of Jakob Wassermann in 1993 and has been awarded since 1996. He is endowed with 10,000 euros. By 2002, the prize was awarded every three years, and since then every two years. In 2007 he was awarded the occasion of the anniversary of the city of Fürth out of turn.

  • A representative of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts ( Ota Filip )
  • A literary critic, a regional daily newspaper ( Inge Rauh, former Nürnberger Nachrichten )
  • A Professor of Modern German Literature ( Gunnar Och, Friedrich- Alexander -University Erlangen- Nuremberg)
  • A representative of the Bavarian Radio ( Cornelia Zetzsche )
  • A member of the German Academy for Language and Literature, Darmstadt ( Jens Malte Fischer )
  • The mayor of the city of Fürth as chairman ( Thomas Jung)
  • The body responsible for cultural affairs as his deputy (Elisabeth Reichert)
  • Two volunteer city council members, without voting rights (Birgit Arnold and Helga Middendorf ).
