Jamaladdin Magomedov

Jamaladdin Magomedov (born 14 March 1989) is an Azerbaijani wrestler Dagestan descent. He won a bronze medal in the free style in the heavyweight division at the World Cup 2011.

Career

Jamaladdin Magomedov grew up in Dagestan and began in 1999 with the rings, where he focused on the free style. He became one of the best Russian junior wrestler in the heavy weight classes. In the years 2007 and 2008 he also started for Russia at international championships and tournaments. In 2009 he moved to Azerbaijan and has since been one of the sports club Ataspor Baku. Has been trained or is he of Anwar Magomedgadschiew and Firdausi Umudow. By 2010, he wrestled heavyweight, since 2011 in the heavyweight division. With a body weight of about 110 kg, it has not yet completely maxed out the weight limit.

In 2007, Jamaladdin Magomedov part light heavyweight at the European Junior Championships in Belgrade and finished there behind Valeri Andrizew from Ukraine and William Harth from Germany to third place. In 2008 he arrived at the Golden Grand Prix in Baku in the same weight class behind Kurban Kurbanov from Uzbekistan and before Eslami Abasár and Alireza Robat Moradi from Iran to 2nd place.

In 2009, he won then, for the first time starting to Azerbaijan, at the Junior World Championship in Tbilisi in the light heavyweight his first international title. He won there before Dibir Dschalilow, Russia and Joseph Javloviar from Slovakia. At the Junior World Championships this year in Ankara, he lost the final against Arfan Amiri from Iran and finished in front of Vladislav Baisajew from Russia and Yasarli Fatih from Turkey 2nd place. In 2010, he was appointed by the Azerbaijani Wrestling Federation still with no international championships. But he took this year at the Golden Grand Prix in Baku heavyweight behind compatriot Chetag Gasjumow and before Georgi Gogschelidse and Belduki Gawaschelischwili, both from Georgia, again an excellent 2nd place.

2011 was Jamaladdin Magomedov before Aslan Dsebischow, Ali and Ali Isayev Magomeddabirow first Azerbaijani heavyweight champion. He was then employed at the European Championships in Dortmund and there came over with wins over Rareş Daniel Chintojan, Romania, Ruslan Basijew, Armenia and Dawit Modsmanaschwili, Georgia, a defeat in the semi-final against Alexei Schemarow, Belarus and another victory in the fight for a bronze medal Ioannis Arzoumanidis, Greece to 3rd place. A bronze medal he won at the World Championships this year in Istanbul. Here he succeeded in victories over Daniel Ligeti, Hungary, Dimitar Kumtschew, Bulgaria and Deng Zhiwei from China. In the semifinals he was defeated by the Olympic champion and multiple world champion Biljal Machów from Russia. Finally, in the battle for the bronze medal he could defeat Jurgalsaichan Chuluunbart from Mongolia.

At the European Championships 2012 in Belgrade, he won first over Ruslan Basijew from Armenia, but had to admit defeat, so he resigned and only reached the 11th place in his next bout to the Bulgarian Dimitar Routenier Kumtschew. Due to its good performance at the World Cup 2011 Jamaladdin Magomedov could go to the start and at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He lost there but just his first fight against former world champion Biljal Machów. Since this does not reach the finals, but he already dropped out early and only came to the 16.Platz.
