James Darren

James Darren ( born June 8, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; actually James William Ercolani ) is an American singer, actor and director.

Life

After high school, Darren went to drama school in New York City. Early on he got some supporting roles in movies, but the great success failed. After a long pause, he received his first starring role in the television series The Time Tunnel. He also appeared in The Seaview - on secret mission as a guest star in the episode The Android. In between, he launched a music career and released songs, some of which landed in the charts, though the number 50 was rarely below. His music resembled the style of his friend Frank Sinatra.

In 1982 he was on the side of William Shatner in the television series TJ Hooker a small comeback. He then worked more behind the camera and directed several episodes of Beverly Hills 90210, Hunter or Palm Beach duo directed the film. In 1998 he was in the role of the holographic singer Vic Fontaine in several episodes of the science fiction series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

James Darren is married to his second wife and has three sons.
