James Robertson, Baron Robertson

James Patrick Bannerman Robertson, Baron Robertson of Forteviot in the County of Perth PC QC ( born August 10, 1845 † February 2, 1909 ) was a Scottish- British politician and the Conservative Party lawyer, who for several years a deputy in the House of Commons and most recently as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary, due to the Appellate jurisdiction Act 1876 as a Life peer was also a member of the House of Lords.

Life

Lawyer and Lord Advocate

Robertson, son of a clergyman, graduated from post-school study of law at the University of Edinburgh, where he a Master of Arts (MA ) acquired in 1864, and in 1867 he obtained his legal approval to the Scottish Bar Association ( Scots Bar ). He then took up a career as a lawyer ( Advocate) and was (Queen 's Counsel ) appointed for his lawyer's achievements in 1885 Attorney-General.

On November 24, 1885 Robertson was elected as a candidate of the Conservative Party for Members in the House of Commons and represented in this until October 8, 1891 the constituency Buteshire. During this time he was first 1885-1886 and again 1886-1888 Solicitor General of Scotland before he succeeded John Macdonald as Lord Advocate Attorney General of Scotland was established in October 1888, this office until his replacement by Charles Pearson, Lord Pearson held in October 1891.
