Jan Březina

Jan Brezina ( born April 14, 1954 in KONICE ) is a Czech Member of the European Parliament, the ELS -ED in the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats ) and European Democrats, KDU- CSL, the ( Křesťanská a demokratická unie - Československé strana Lidová ).

Life

In 1973 he passed the Abitur and studied until 1978 mining engineering at the University of Ostrava Ostrava, then worked in the Road Administration Ostrava. After the Velvet Revolution in 1990, he joined the Christian Democratic Union / Czechoslovak People's Party ( KDU- CSL ) when, in 1995, elected to the District Executive and 2000 to the Board. In the period from 1995 to 1997 he was also mayor of the city Uničov and 1997-2000 Chairman of the county government in Olomouc. In 1998 he was involved in the preparation of strategy papers of the Czech Republic. From 2000 to 2004 he was captain of the Olomouc region.

Brezina is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, and in the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committees EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia, and in the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly EURO- NEST
