Jan Velkoborský

January Velkoborský (* July 14, 1975 in Plzeň ) is a Czech football player.

Career

January Velkoborský began playing football at the age of six years at Viktoria Plzen. At age 18, he moved to TJ Svéradice. His military service completed in the clubs VTJ Stříbro and VTJ Karlovy Vary. 1995 returned Velkoborský, which was used at that time mostly in the midfield back to Pilsen, but played for the first FC Plzen.

After a few months he was brought back by Viktoria Plzen and debuted in November 1995 in the Czech first league. The second part of the 1995/96 season spent Velkoborský at FK Tachov. He was loaned again to the first FC Pilsen Then, this time he stayed half a year. In early 1997 Velkoborskýs odyssey was over first, he returned to Viktoria Plzen and won a regular place. In two and a half years, the 1.90 meter tall Velkoborský completed 65 games and scored six goals. In the summer of 1999 he was engaged by Chmel Blšany, where he developed into one of the best defensive players in the league.

On August 15, 2001 Velkoborský debut in a friendly against South Korea in the Czech national team. His second and last match Velkoborský completed on 5 September 2001 in qualifying for the 2002 World Cup against Malta.

During this time, both Slavia Prague and the FK Teplice in the defenders were interested in an exchange but did not. It was not until the beginning of 2003 left Velkoborský Blšany when he was loaned to the German second division LR Ahlen. After 42 games in one and a half years Velkoborský moved in summer 2004 to Banik Ostrava, but at the former Czech champion he could not prevail. After half a year he went to Viktoria Zizkov in the second league. In July 2005 Velkoborský returned to Ahlen and signed a two-year contract. The team has been trained at this time from the Czech coach František Straka.

After the descent of the LR Ahlen in the Regionalliga Nord at the end of the season 2005/ 06 Velkoborský moved to SV Elversberg in the Regionalliga Süd. When he was retired at Elversberg 2008, he joined the League to 3.tschechische VTJ Karlovy Vary, where he has played from 1994 to 1995. From 2009 to August 2013 Velkoborský played at FC 1 Kötzting. On March 11, 2012, he tore himself in the game against SSV Jahn Regensburg II cruciate ligament, which put him out of action for over a year. While still recovering from his injury Velkoborský, he took over in October 2012 the post of head coach at FCK and led the club from relegation zone to the trusted mid-table. Page August 2013 he is active as a player for the first FC Zandt.
