Janika Sillamaa

Janika Sillamaa ( born June 23, 1975 in Tallinn) is an Estonian jazz and pop singer.

Training

Janika Sillamaa (actually Jaanika Sillamaa ) visited the Tallinn Music High School. Her first stage appearances she had with leading roles in children's theater Colombina. She then studied at the renowned Georg Ots Music School in Tallinn - stage singing, jazz and pop. She celebrated great success as Mary Magdalene in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. Since 2000, she studied theater directing at the Estonian Academy of Music and has worked as a singing teacher.

Euro Vision Song Contest

In 1993 the Estonian Television, Janika Sillamaa decided to send the first Representative of Estonia to Euro Vision Song Contest. In a national first round a group of experts in a meelt of eight songs Janika Silla Maas, Muretut Voted Yes südametuld. However, when Eastern European decider in Ljubljana she was disqualified and not allowed to participate in the actual competition.
