Janusz GÅ‚owacki

Janusz Glowacki (* September 13, 1938 in Poznań ) is a Polish writer and playwright.

Life

After the Polish Studies program at the University of Warsaw in 1964, he began working with the magazine Kultura in Warsaw, where he quickly noticed by his ingenious short stories and feature articles. In the late 1960s he began working as a screenwriter. During this time, among other things, the film emerged flies hunting ( Polowanie na muchy ), directed by Andrzej Wajda, as well as the cult film Rejs Marek Piwowski. After the imposition of martial law in 1981 Glowacki left Poland and settled in the U.S., where he still lives today. He has written since then have included a number of dramas that are played internationally. His biggest success was the play Antigone in New York from 1992.
