Janusz Åšniadek

Janusz Sniadek ( born May 26, 1955 in Sopot ) since September 27, 2002 Chairman of the State Commission ( Komisja Krajowa ) of the Polish trade union federation NSZZ Solidarność.

On 29 September 2006 he was re-elected on the Solidarity congress in Szczecin for a second cadence of four years. Its other functions are Vice - Chairman of the Tripartite Social and Economic Commission, Chairman of the Committee of the National Commission for foreign policy, European integration and MOP.

Sniadek studied from 1975 to 1981 at the Faculty of shipbuilding at the Technical University of Gdańsk and earned a master's degree as a mechanical engineer. In 1981, he took a job in the shipyard " Paris Commune " in Gdynia ( Gdynia ) on (today Gdynia Shipyard SA). Since August 1981 he has been active in trade unions. In the state of war in the early 1980s he worked for the Solidarity underground and edited the shipyard sheet " Kadlúb ". Until 1989 he worked as a designer in the design office of the shipyard. He was elected chairman of the operating committee of Solidarity in 1989. He held this position until 1998. In the cadenza 1992 to 1995 he was a member of the board of the Gdańsk NSZZ "Solidarity" region. In 1995 he became a member of the National Commission of NSZZ "Solidarity", in him the position of Vice - Chairman was transferred in 1997. In June 1998 he was elected chairman of the board of the Gdańsk NSZZ Solidarność region.

As the greatest success of his life Janusz Sniadek denotes the completion of the construction of the memorial for the victims of December 1970, the Government in Gdynia and obtaining the return of confiscated funds (1 million old zloty ) of the Social Committee for the construction of the monument. For the money, equipment for the Intensive Care Unit of City Hospital in Gdynia was purchased. Another achievement is the establishment of the Foundation for Health " solidarity " that decorated the shipyard clinic with the latest technology among others.
