Japchae

Japchae ( 잡채 ) (also Jabchae or Chapchae ) is a Korean noodle dish, with glass noodles ( Kor. 당면, Hanja唐 面, Dangmyeon ) is produced.

The glass noodles are cooked and to beef strips and various finely chopped vegetables ingredients (typically carrot strips, onions, spinach, and mushrooms ) are fried, then mixed in the noodles. The soup is seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar, garnished with sesame seeds and often slices of red chili.

The glass noodles are made from sweet potato starch for Japchae and usually served as a side dish, although it can also serve as a main course. Japchaebap ( 잡채밥 ) means that rice with Japchae is served. Japchae can be eaten hot or cold.
