Jaques Lazier

Jaques Lazier ( born January 25, 1971 in Denver) is an American race car driver. His brother Buddy and his father Bob are also racers.

Career

Lazier began his motorsport career in 1980 motocross. In 1983, he rose in the karting and remained until 1987 in this sport. He then moved to Formula racing and went from 1989 to 1997 in the U.S. Formula Ford at. In addition, he started half of the season 1997 in the Indy Lights and finished 22nd overall.

In 1998 he moved to the Indy Racing League (IRL ). Lazier was only reported at the Indianapolis 500 and could not qualify for this race. In 1999 he participated in every race except for the season opener. The racers did not succeed again to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 with seven seats as the best results, he finished at the end of the season 18th in the Drivers' Championship. 2000 started Lazier to seven of nine races in the IRL. For the first time he qualified for the Indianapolis 500 and scored 13 as his best ever placing in this race. The season he finished in 20th place overall. 2001 was the most successful season for the U.S. racers. After he did not compete at the first three races of the IRL season, he succeeded in the second last race in Joliet his first and only victory in the IRL. In the overall classification, he finished 17th place. It was his best overall placement in the IRL.

2002, Lazier participate only in the first four races. Despite a second-place he was after this race replaced by Raul Boesel and finished the season in 26th place. After the championship was renamed the IndyCar Series in 2003, he played the first half of the season in this series. With a sixth place as best result he was 23 overall. In 2004, Lazier again to around half of the race and took part with an eighth place as best result 22 overall.

In 2005 he first took part for Playa Del Racing at the Indianapolis 500. He then joined as a replacement for the dismissed Darren Manning for Chip Ganassi Racing at the Oval last race of the season. In the overall standings he was 24th in 2006 and IndyCar Series season in 2007, he joined for Playa Del Racing only to the Indianapolis 500. At the end of the season, he finished 29th and the 33rd overall.

After a one year break Lazier launched 3G for the team in the 2009 IndyCar Series season to a total of six races and finished 26th in the overall standings. 2010, the Americans were short-term obligation for AJ Foyt IV AJ Foyt Enterprises of the Indianapolis 500. Lazier managed, however, first time since 1999 not to qualify.

Jaques Lazier was never at his brother Buddy, the 2000 the champion of the IRL and the Indianapolis 500 in 1996 won the successes build. His father Bob is also a racing driver and stepped even to the Indianapolis 500.
