Jared Harris

Jared Francis Harris ( born August 24, 1961 in London, England ) is a British actor.

Life and career

Jared Harris ' parents are Elizabeth Rees and the actor Richard Harris. His older brother is the writer-director Damian Harris (born 1958 ). His younger brother is the actor Jamie Harris (born 1965 ). His stepfather was Rex Harrison, with which the mother was married to his second wife. Harris attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. In the U.S., he studied drama and literature at Duke University and graduated from it in 1984. After that, he worked for many years at the Royal Shakespeare Company in London and played in the plays Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Silent Woman and A Clockwork Orange. His first feature film was He? Will! Not you? ( The Rachel Papers ) ( 1989), in which Damian Harris was responsible for directing and screenplay. In the city of New York, he joined off-Broadway in the play on Ecstasy and received in 1992 for the Obie Award. He founded The Sinachie Theater Company in New York City. In addition to his stage work, he joined more than 50 times before the camera on, for example, in the film I Shot Andy Warhol ( 1996), he is seen in the title role. 1996 ended his five-year relationship with the American actress Tahnee Welch. 1998 Harris was awarded at the Sitges Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya for Trance Best Actor. In 2000 he received the Seattle International Film Festival for The Weekend the New American Cinema Award together with the ensemble cast. 2013 he took over the role of " Joseph Coupland " in Hammer Films thriller " The Quiet Ones".

He was married to fellow actress Emilia Fox since 16 July 2005. The couple divorced again in 2009.
