Jari Europaeus

Jari " Euffa " Europaeus ( born December 29, 1962 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish former football player and coach. The defender played 1981-1996 as a player with five different clubs in Sweden and Finland, and came up with 54 appearances in the national team.

Europaeus played first time in 1981 for the first team HJK Helsinki in the Finnish first division. HJK won in 1981 both the championship and the cup. 1984 Europaeus went to Sweden and played there for Gefle IF in the Allsvenskan. However, the club was relegated in the same year and the next two years Europaeus played in the second Swedish league before he came to Östers IF 1987. Europaeus played two seasons with the club in Växjö and then moved 26 -year-old back to Finland to Lapland Rovaniemi Palloseura first division. In this one season at RoPS he was selected by the National Football Association Footballer of the Year. As of 1990, the Europaeus HJK jersey pulled on again. For six years he remained at the Finnish giants and got 1990 and 1992 his Finnish Champion title number two and three. In 1996 he moved to the newly founded club Atlantis FC in the third division and ended after one season his career here as a player.

Jari Europaeus graduated from the then coach training of the Finnish Football Association, and was until October 2000 worked as manager of Atlantis FC. He was coach of the Ykkönen clubs FC Viikingit 2005 and got into the 2006 season with this club into the First Division. However, the Viikingit could not keep the class and the instructor contract was terminated prematurely because of descent.
