Jarno Pihlava

Jarno Pihlava ( born May 14, 1979 in Raisio ) is a Finnish swimmers. His biggest success was the second place at the European Swimming Championships 2000 in Helsinki in the discipline 100m breaststroke.

Jarno Pihlava began swimming at the age of seven years. Today he is a member of the association " Raision Urheilijat " and is coached by Jarmo Rosama.

His greatest successes so far:

  • 9th place in the 100m breast at the Junior World Championships in Copenhagen 1996
  • 5th place with the 4x50m medley relay at the European Short Course Championships in Lisbon 1999
  • 2nd place in the 100m breast at the European Swimming Championships in Helsinki 2000
  • 11th place in the 100m breast at the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000
  • 16th place in the 100m breast at the World Swimming Championships in 2001 in Fukuoka
  • 4th place in the 100m breast and 5th place in the 200m breast at the European Swimming Championships in Berlin 2002
  • 13th place in the 100m breast at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004
