Jaroslav Janiš
Jaroslav " Jarek " Janiš ( born July 8, 1983 in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech racing driver. His younger brother Erik Janiš is also a racing driver.
Career
Janiš began his motorsport career in 1989 in karting, where he was active until 1998. In 1999 he moved to Formula racing and competed in the German Formula Ford after he had occupied the seventh place overall in his first season, in 2000 he was runner-up. He also appeared in 2000 to a couple of races in various Formula series. In 2001 he moved to the German Formula 3 Championship and finished the season on the 22 overall. In addition to individual -offs in other racing series, he also gave his Formula 3000 debut at the last race of the season 2001. 2002 started Janiš for the Czech team ISR Racing in the Euro Formula 3000th The rider won two races and finished the season in third place in the overall standings. 2003, the Czech returned to the international Formula 3000 championship. He stayed with his team, in the formula 3000 under the name Superfund ISR - took Charouz. His best results were two fourth places with which he finished eighth in the championship at the end of the season. In both seasons Yannick Schroeder was his team mate. In addition to his debut in the FIA GT Championship, he completed also for Jordan Grand Prix Formula 1 test drives.
2004 moved Janiš in the DTM and entered into a Mercedes for the team as Rosberg 's team-mate Bernd Mayländer to. The Czech had no points. He also completed in the 2004 season, a race in the Champ Car Series, in its overall rating, he finished 24th place. 2005, the racers started first in the Formula Nippon. After three races without points Janiš left the series and competed in the Italian Formula 3000, the successor series of the Euro Formula 3000. Starting for Ma -Con Engineering, he was with a victory behind Luca Filippi runner-up. In 2006, he first started out in the first six races of the F3000 International Masters, the predecessor of the International Formula Master series. Janiš finished all the races on the podium four and decided for themselves. At the end of the season he finished, even though he had not completed more than half of the race, the third overall. He also competed for Zakspeed in the FIA GT Championship and was fifth with two wins in the GT1 class.
After graduating in winter 2006/2007 four races for the Czech team in A1 Grand Prix, he started in 2007 only to individual races in the FIA GT Championship, the Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and the 24 - hour race of Le Mans. After a one year break, he returned in 2009 back to active racing and was in the 24- hour race at Le Mans fifth in the GT2 class. He also competed in the Le Mans Series and finished third in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. In 2010 he appears again in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo.
