Jaroslav Křička

Jaroslav Křička ( born August 27, 1882 in Kelč / Moravia, † January 23, 1969 in Prague) was a Czech composer.

Career

Křička studied in Prague and Berlin. From 1906 to 1909 he was a teacher of composition in Jekatarinoslaw. From 1911 to 1920 he was choirmaster in Prague, since 1922 he led the Philharmonic Choir. From 1919 to 1945 he taught as a professor at the Prague Conservatory, which he also initiated from 1942.

Křička composed operas, film and theater music, two symphonies, a Serenade for Strings, a violin concerto, chamber music, choirs and children's songs.
