Jarosław Kukulski

Jarosław Kukulski ( born May 26, 1944 in Wreschen; † 13 September 2010 in Warsaw) was a Polish composer.

Biography

After school he studied at the Music High School of Poznań and oboe at the School of Instrumental Music. Then he himself played jazz and Dixieland and in 1968 composer, arranger and pianist for the music band Waganci and met the pop singer Anna Jantar, whom he married in 1971. As these early 1970s their successful solo career began and became the most popular Polish pop singer, Kukulski composed many songs as Najtrudniejszy pierwszy krok, Tyle słońca w całym mieście and Moje jedyne marzenie.

In addition, however, he also worked for several other musicians like Irena Jarocka, Eleni Tzoka, Krzysztof Krawczyk, Halina Frąckowiak, Felicjan Andrzejczak, Bogdana Zagórska and Jadwiga Strzelecka. He worked in particular with the songwriters Kondratowicz Janusz Marek Dutkiewicz, Bogdan Olewicz and Andrzej Kurylo.

For his compositions, he was awarded the mid-1970s several times. After the death of Anna Jantar, who was also the mother of his daughter Natalia Kukulska, in a plane crash in 1980 he married the singer Monika Borys, for which he also composed several songs.

On the occasion of his 35th anniversary as a composer was released in 2005 the record Moje Piosenki. For his services to the Polish music, he was awarded by President Aleksander Kwasniewski awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta.

Kukulski, who died from the effects of an aortic aneurysm, was buried at the cemetery in Warsaw Cmentarz Wawrzyszewski next to Anna Jantar.
