Jason Dufner

Jason Christopher Dufner ( born March 24, 1977 in North Olmsted, Ohio) is an American professional golfer on the PGA TOUR.

From 2001 to 2003 and from 2005 to 2006 Dufner played on the second lined up Nationwide Tour, and in between he managed to qualify for the 2004 PGA TOUR.

Since 2007, he can consistently compete on the leading tournament series. At the PGA Championship in 2011 he only lost in the jump and reached for the first time the top 50 World Golf Rankings. In April 2012, he won his first tournament on the PGA Tour, Zurich Classic of New Orleans and four weeks later, Dufner succeeded the next success in the HP Byron Nelson Championship. By far the biggest success of his career, he reached with his victory at the PGA Championship in 2013. Here he was a new place and tournament record set and set the Major lap record in the second round with 63 strokes. In the world rankings Dufner came 8th place for the first time into the top ten.

Trivia

Dufner is known for his distinctive pre-shot routine, the " Dufner - Waggle ". This " wags " he, standing already on the ball several times with the bat from his wrists above and behind the ball before it touches the racket head briefly and then very quickly out the punch.

Made famous is the " Dufnering ", which goes back to a photo that was taken by Dufner during a sponsors appointment in a primary school. He sits next to some of the children on the floor, leaning against a wall, legs stretched out and slid his hands under the thighs, the whole combined with a not very interested expression. This image animated many other golfers to emulate this position and to publish resulting photos.
