The Jatznick station is a railway station separation in the eponymous municipality in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern district of Vorpommern - Greifswald. It is located at kilometer 142.9 of Angermuende - Stralsund railway and is the starting point of a branch-line to Ueckermuende.

Location and construction

The station is about two kilometers north of the Jatznicker village center at the intersection of the main track Angermuende - Stralsund by the federal highway 109 and state road 32 The branch-line to Ueckermuende threaded north out of the way.

The system includes, in addition to the reception building various other structures. The former two interlocking systems are dismantled as part of the centralization interlocking ( CBI ). For the former VEB Kombinat brick Ueckermuende was a railway siding. The station had three platform tracks since the commissioning of the branch line, the connection platform to Ueckermünde was closed again in the 2000s.

The station including two railway workers' cottages and a shed Station is a listed building.

History

The station was opened with the start of the section from Angermuende on 16 March 1863 after Anklam. It reversed back first two passenger pair, as well as a freight train from Stettin Station in Berlin to Anklam and again.

1882 decided the Prussian Parliament to build a branch line to Ueckermuende. On October 15, 1884, was opened. The station was awarded a separate station part.

In the 2000s, the line speed of the Angermuende - Stralsund railway and the integration into the electronic interlocking Anklam, which is remotely controlled from the control center in Berlin, the connection platform to Ueckermünde were abandoned in the wake of the proposed increase and increases the other two platforms to 55 inches, converted to external platforms and moves north.

The train station is two hourly operated by a regional express line of DB Regio East and a line of OLA. There are direct train in the direction of Stralsund, Ueckermuende, Pasewalk, Biitzow, Berlin and Elsterwerda.
