Jaxon

Jaxon is the pen name of Jack Jackson ( born May 15, 1941 in Pandora, † June 8, 2006 in Stockdale ), an American comic book artist and author of books on the history of Texas. He is one of the artists of the underground comix and was co-founder of the comic publisher Rip Off Press.

Life

During his studies he worked with Gilbert Shelton, Fred Todd, and Dave Moriarty for the magazine The Texas Ranger, which was brought out at the University of Texas at Austin with a circulation up to 12,000 copies. Also in charlatan, a student magazine, which was released by Bill Killeen, he was able to publish some stories.

God Nose appeared in 1964, self-published with 1000 copies and included several short stories in which God shown with a very large nose, philosophical conversations with his " subordinates " leads. Jackson used the pseudonym Jaxon, so as not to jeopardize his job with the government. He had a degree in accounting and was instrumental in the introduction of VAT with. God Nose sold quickly and the money earned is made ​​with Jackson Moriarty a European tour that took them on motorcycles from London to France and Spain to Lisbon in wintry Europe.
