Jay Rabinowitz (editor)
Jay Rabinowitz is an American editor. He belongs to the Professional Association American Cinema Editors (ACE).
Rabinowitz studied at New York University, where he graduated in 1984, the Cinema Studies Program. During the program, he learned of a film project, in which a trainee was still being sought. The project was Jim Jarmusch's Night on Earth. Rabinowitz has since worked on all the films Jarmusch, including Dead Man, Coffee and Cigarettes, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai and Broken Flowers. Other well-known directors, with whose work he helped, were Paul Schrader, Darren Aronofsky and Terrence Malick.
In 2000 he was awarded for his performance in the film Requiem for a Dream in the Online Film Critics Society Awards in the category Best Editing.
