Jaz Coleman

Jeremy " Jaz " Coleman ( born February 26, 1960 in Cheltenham, England) is a founding member and frontman of the band Killing Joke. He is a singer and plays keyboards and synthesizers. His parents were both teachers, his mother is from India. In his youth he was trained in classical music, including the Academy of Music " Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy " in Leipzig. He was a member of church choirs and won competitions as a violinist.

At the age of 18 he turned to punk rock and founded the band Killing Joke.

The Wahlneuseeländer Coleman worked as a composer and conductor of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and with this published his first, written during a stay in Iceland Symphony " Symphony no. # 1 ". With either the Prague or London Symphony Orchestra Coleman played orchestra versions of tracks from bands like Led Zeppelin ( "Kashmir " ), The Doors ( "Concerto " with Nigel Kennedy), Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd ( " Us And Them " ) or The Who ( "Who's Serious " ) a. In 2002, he appeared as an actor in common with Nohavica in the Czech movie " Rok DABLA " ( Year of the Devil ) by Petr Zelenka. Coleman is known for his energetic stage performances. Lately he wears on stage a black jumpsuit and his face painted in the colors red, white and black. Theatrical productions like throwing small change, fireworks and the like play an important role in his stage performances.

Coleman has the passports from four different countries and divides his time between New Zealand, Switzerland and Prague.
