Jean-Baptiste Francois des Marets, marquis de Maillebois

Jean -Baptiste François of Maret, or Desmarets, marquis de Maillebois (* 1682 in Paris, † February 7, 1762 ) was a French general and Marshal of France.

Maillebois was a son of General Controller of Finance Nicolas Desmarets, marquis de Maillebois (1648-1721), and thus a great-nephew of Colbert. He subdued Corsica 1739, that rose again after his dismissal, and was in 1741 appointed marshal, but failed the following year before Prague.

He died on February 7, 1762 as governor of Alsace.
