Jean-Baptiste Mondino

Jean -Baptiste Mondino ( born July 21, 1949 in Aubervilliers, France) is a French photographer, graphic designer and video director.

Life

He began his career as a graphic designer and later became art director of a famous Parisian advertising agency. The self-taught photographer thins with fondness rock groups, directing music videos and take pictures for the fashion and advertising industries.

Work

Until a few years ago as a man behind the scenes hardly known publicly, Mondino is now considered a cult figure of young art directors and designers. His computer-manipulated images and video clips for artists such as Alain Bashung, Bjork, David Bowie, Neneh Cherry, Les Rita Mitsouko, Madonna, Vanessa Paradis, Prince, Sting, etc., should have shaped the visual world of rock, pop and fashion scene in recent years. Of him he says: "I'm not interested in ego, I'm interested in echo. " ( German: "I 'm not interested in self-expression, but to advertising effectiveness. " )
