Jean de Bernieres - Louvigny (* 1602 in Caen, † May 3, 1659 ) was a French mystic from the laity and spiritual writer.

Life

Jean de Bernieres - Louvigny was born in 1602 in the Norman city of Caen as a nobleman and worked as a royal tax official. After a conversion experience, he led an ascetic life in a hermitage. He was never clerics, but devoted himself to the spiritual guidance of many people and wrote some spiritual writings, all of which were printed only after his death. He led a contemplative, but also charitable life. He died in his hometown on May 3, 1659th
