Jean-Denis Délétraz

Jean -Denis Delétraz ( born October 1, 1963 in Geneva ) is a Swiss race car driver.

As the costs in Formula 1 mid-1990s continues to put upward pressure, the door was for racers who paid for their start-up, open wide. One of the pilots, who came along this path in the world's highest single-seater class, was the Swiss Delétraz. His qualification, to compete with the fastest racers remained questionable. His debut in Formula 1, he gave in 1994 at the Grand Prix in Adelaide for the Tourtel Larrousse team of Gérard Larrousse. This race went down in the history of the sport by the world championship -critical collision of Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher. Delétraz himself fell after a weak race with a gearbox failure.

1995 was followed by two race for the Pacific team. With lap times that were resistant to 10 seconds slower than the top pilots, Delétraz drove in Portugal and in the European Grand Prix behind the field. After the failure in Estoril he was at the Nürburgring not classified, seven laps down because he had to winner Michael Schumacher at the finish.

A completely different picture of his skills showed the Swiss sports car. For more than a decade, he is one of the drivers in the Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series and the FIA GT Championship. Where it comes to endurance, consistency and team spirit of the Swiss is a welcome pilot various factory and private teams. He is a welcome guest at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he won the LMP2 class of the 2001 and 2002, and so drove different cars such as the McLaren F1 GTR as well as the factory Lotus GT and the Ferrari 333SP. In 2007 he drove a Lola B07/10 of the Swiss Spirit team together with Marcel Fässler and Iradj Alexander. The blow came after 62 laps due to engine failure.

His last start date at Le Mans, the Swiss in 2012. The race ended for you after an accident, one of his team-mates ahead of schedule.
