Jean-François Delacroix

Jean -François Delacroix ( born April 3, 1753 in Pont- Audemer, France, † April 5, 1794 in Paris) was a politician during the French Revolution.

Life

Jean -François Delacroix was born the son of a surgeon and entered 1771 into the gendarmerie. Later, he studied law and practiced as a lawyer in Anet.

Delacroix was elected in 1790 to the General Counsel of the Eure- et- Loir, in April 1791 he was elected a judge of the Court of Cassation, and in September 1791, the department of Eure -et -Loir chose him as members of the legislature. In the Legislative Assembly, he was a member of the Military Committee. There he demanded harsh measures against the king, against the ministers of the Feuillants and against the Catholic Church. From 20 August to 2 September 1792 Delacroix served as President of the Legislative Assembly.

In September 1792 the department of Eure -et -Loir elected him to the National Convention. Delacroix approached the mountain party, presided over the National Assembly from 4 to 18 October 1792 and accompanied the end of November 1792 Danton to Belgium to check the supply of the northern army. Delacroix agreed in January 1793 for the death of Louis XVI. In March 1793, he again accompanied Danton to Belgium. Your job to hold General Dumouriez 's betrayal, they could not fulfill. The Revolutionary Tribunal sentenced all the defendants on April 4, 1794 to death. Jean François Delacroix died on April 5, 1794 under the guillotine in Paris.
