Jean Gabilou

Jean Gabilou, John Gabilou ( born February 28, 1944 in Papeete as Gabriel Lewis Laughlin ) is a French- Polynesian pop singer.

Raised in Tahiti, he sang from the early 1960s in hotels and holiday clubs. He and his friends formed the group Barefoot Boys with whom he published in 1968 a first successful single. He came in the 1970s when Barclay under contract and so some singles from him appeared. He was asked to represent France at Euro Vision Song Contest 1981 in Dublin. With the hit Humanahum he reached the third place.

Back in Tahiti, he remained active in the 2000s as a singer.
