Jean Lorrain

Jean Lorrain ( born August 29, 1855 in Fécamp, Seine- Maritime, † June 30, 1906 ) was a French writer and poet of the symbolism.

Life

As a writer Lorrain wrote several poems, short stories and novels in French; he was considered a scandal reporter of the Belle Époque and wrote, among other things, under the pseudonym Rétif de la Bretonne on the Paris night world. Also Lorrain wrote in 1910 wrote the libretto for the opera Eros vainqueur of Pierre de Breville. Lorrain was known as a writer for his dandyism and lived openly homosexual in Paris. His habits were a strong opium and ether pleasure and always with a blush and other makeup been canned, elegant exterior.
