Jean-Louis Agobet

Jean -Louis Agobet (* April 21, 1968 in Blois, Centre, France ) is a French composer. The focus of his music is on acoustic ensembles, some of which are complemented by live electronics.

Life

Agobet studied at the Conservatoire National de Nice, the ENM Aix -en- Provence and at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Lyon. In addition, he attended classes at Luigi Nono at Acanthes. Since the 90s he wrote works for internationally renowned orchestras, conductors and soloists.

From 1996 to 2001 he worked regularly at IRCAM in Paris. As an ex -Fellow of the Villa Medici in Rome (1993-1996), he was from 1998 to 2000 composer in residence with the Orchestre National Montpellier and from 2001 to 2005, the Strasbourg Philharmonic, where he was also responsible for the music education department. In 2006 he won at the Victoires de la musique classique the prize for the best recording, also he was awarded in September 2006 by the SACEM, the Prix Claude Arrieu.

Agobet teaches at the Conservatoire in Caen, Normandy, where he was Composer in 2010 at the Festival Musiques d' Aujourd'hui Aspects of in Residence. He is currently working on the project LabOrchestre in Tokyo. His works are published by Jobert in Paris and at peer music classical in Hamburg.
