Jean Stapleton

Jean Stapleton (born Jeanne Murray, born 19 January 1923 in New York City; † May 31, 2013 in New York ) was an American actress.

Work

Stapleton began her career in show business in the 1950s and 1960s as a Broadway actress, they also played at the same time especially in various television productions minor guest roles.

Stapleton was especially famous for her portrayal of Edith Bunker on the side of Carroll O'Connor in the 1970s sitcom All in the Family, for which she won three Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes.

In 1986, she played the role of Ariadne Oliver on the side of Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poirot in the television crime murder with distributed roles of Agatha Christie. In her career, she appeared in a total of some 90 film and television productions.

In 1957 she married William Putch, with whom she had two children. Their marriage ended with his death in 1983.
