Jeanne Balibar

Jeanne Balibar ( born April 13, 1968 in Paris) is a French actress and singer.

Life

Jeanne Balibar was born as a daughter of the philosopher Étienne Balibar and the physicist Françoise Balibar. After studying history at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, she began her acting career with a role in " Don Juan " at the Festival of Avignon. Her first film role was in 1992 in Arnaud Desplechin The Guard (La Sentinelle ).

She has been nominated three times for a César.

With the actor Mathieu Amalric she has two children. The couple separated in 2000. Meanwhile, she lives with the writer Pierre Alferi, who has also written some lyrics for them.

Balibar 2008 was appointed to the jury of the 61st Cannes Film Festival.
