Jeckyll & Hyde (musicians)

Jeckyll & Hyde is a Dutch house duo consisting of Vorwerk (actually Maarten Vorwerk, born 25 April 1980) and DJ Ruthless (actually Ruud van IJperen; born 10 September 1978). Currently they specialize in Jumpstyle. They will be supported by DJ / MC Patrick Kars aka DJ Red, along with two Jumpstyle dancers and two dancers. Together they are the shape of Jeckyll & Hyde, while Ruthless & Vorwerk keep in the background and produce their tracks and make them public when their own record label, Beats Square.

Biography

The duo was known under the name Ruthless & Vorwerk, Jack & The Ripper, Twisted Maniacs and Spanish Flies in the clubs. Vorwerk had rather have a solo club hit with ' Vietnam ', which was later renamed ' Cambodia '. ' Cambodia ' here is a cover of the original song ' Cambodia ', which is by Kim Wilde in 1981. So they had for the first time as a Jeckyll & Hyde commercial success.

The name comes from the novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde from 1886, by the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson. In 2005, under that name before the singles 'Kick this one ' and ' Precious Dreamer ' published. The tracks were successful, but they have not yet reached the general public. This was Jeckyll & Hyde until the end of 2006 with the single ' Frozen Flame'. After a successful release on vinyl in June 2006, this track was released in August as a CD by ' Digidance '.

Unlike their previous singles was ' Frozen Flame' played regularly on the radio. Also, the associated stop-motion video clip, directed by Pieter Santens, was often played on music television. The video shows the LEGO figures, which dance in Jumpstyle dance style at a disco. On the walls of this LEGO nightclub hang posters of Ruthless & Vorwerk and their label Square beats.

After ' Frozen Flame' six weeks had been at the beginning of the Dutch Tipparade, the song was unexpected at position 35 in the Dutch charts. It was a long time in these regions, but in the eighth week rose ' Frozen Flame' unexpectedly on place 19, then at number 11

In December 2006, she published under the name of Rudolph & The Grinch the Christmas track ' Merry X- Mas ( Jeckyll & Hyde Remix) '.

After the commercial success Jeckyll & Hyde regularly on tour through the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

End of March 2007, there were again successful for Jeckyll & Hyde: The single ' Free Fall ' came in the Dutch charts at # 11 and in the second week continues at No. 1 This was ' Free Fall ', the first instrumental # 1 hit in Holland as ' Conquest of Paradise ' by Vangelis was at No. 1 since 1995.

In June 2007, Jeckyll & Hyde began a collaboration with Milk Inc. from Belgium. Together, they have the track ' Sunrise' recorded and released throughout Europe. From this track there were two versions. In Belgium, this was the 'original radio edit' and in the Netherlands the ' Jeckyll & Hyde Radio Mix '. This single place in the Netherlands reached 11

Jeckyll & Hyde reached 2007, two TMF Awards Nomimierungen - the TMF Party Award and the Radio TMF Hit Award, which they also won.
