Jeff Bloemberg

Jeff Bloemberg ( born January 31, 1968 in Listowel, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was active among other things, for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League.

Career

Bloemberg began his career in 1985 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League with the North Bay Centennials. A year later, he chose the leaders of the New York Rangers during the NHL Entry Draft in 1986 in the fifth round at a total of 93 position. The defense remained until 1988 in the OHL before he to the Denver Rangers, the former farm team of the New York Rangers, joined the International Hockey League. In the 1988/89 season, he completed his first nine NHL games for the Rangers, but scoring no point scorer. In the following years, Bloemberg could not prevail in the NHL and was mainly active in various farm teams of the New Yorker. He played in 1989/90 at the Flint Spirits of the IHL and from 1990 to 1992 with the Binghamton Rangers in the American Hockey League.

In the summer of 1992, Bloemberg initially opted for an engagement with the Tampa Bay Lightning when he was pulled during the NHL Expansion Draft in 1992 by the newly formed team shortly before. Even before the beginning of the season 1992/93 he moved to the Edmonton Oilers. With the Oilers he was out of the NHL for use and on the other hand was 92 times the shirt of the Cape Breton Oilers of the AHL. After another year at the Springfield Falcons, he signed for season 1994/95 as a free agent contract with the Detroit Red Wings, but also put him only at their former farm team, the Adirondack Red Wings in the AHL. There he played until 1997 and then moved to the German Hockey League to the Berlin Capitals. It was followed by a season with the Revierlöwen Oberhausen, before he ended his active career in 1999 at the age of hockey 31 years.
