Jefferson de Oliveira Galvão ( born January 2, 1983 in São Vicente, Brazil) is a Brazilian goalkeeper and currently plays for Botafogo FR.

Career

Association

Jefferson began his professional career in 2001 with Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte. With this in 2002 he was National Champion of Minas Gerais. Since the goalkeeper but only irregularly was used, it was awarded between 2003 and 2005 at Botafogo FR and thus missed in 2003 winning the Brazilian championship and the national Cup by Cruzeiro. With Botafogo Jefferson remained in the two years in which he represented the colors Titellos, however, developed at this time for regular players. In 2005, he did not return to Belo Horizonte, but transferred to Europe, in the Turkish Süper Lig Trabzonspor. There he was to be the successor to the Australian Michael Petkovic. With Trabzonspor, the goalkeeper was able to beat its competitors Ahmet Şahin Tolga Zengin and went and as number 1 in the 2005/ 06 season. However, for the second half of the episode season Jefferson lost his place in the starting XI and was replaced by Tolga Zengin. After he rarely came into use in 2007/ 08, the goalkeeper decided in the summer of 2008, a change to league rivals Konyaspor. After he went again as number 1 in the new season, Jefferson again lost after the first round his post and had to watch as his opponent Oğuzhan Bahadir guarded the gate of Konyaspor. The club rose from the end of the season from the first Turkish league. Finally, he decided to leave Turkey again and return to his former club Botafogo FR, where he established himself again to its former strength and marched back into the circle of the national team. With the BFR Jefferson won the 2010 Taça Rio, the Taça Guanabara and the state championship in Rio de Janeiro. During this time, Jefferson was able to convince what it both the title of best goalkeeper as the title of best player in the state championship in Rio de Janeiro in 2010 earned through performance.

National

Jefferson was junior national team of Brazil. In 2003, he won the Junior World Cup with the U-20 in the country. There he came after Fernando Henrique went as main goalkeeper in the tournament from the quarter- finals for the use and denied a total of four games, including the final match against Spain, at the Brazil won 1-0. Soon after, he moved first to the attention of the senior team. But only in 2011 the keeper of new coach Mano Menezes was appointed to the squad for the Copa America in Argentina.
