Jeffrey Frisch

Jeffrey Frisch ( born June 1, 1984 in Brixen ) is an alpine skier from Italy, but riding for the Canadian ski team. First, the South Tyrolean started for Italy, since the 2004/ 05 season he joined the Canadian ski team. His strongest disciplines are downhill, super- G and giant slalom.

Biography

Fresh denied in November 1999, his first FIS races and took from January 2002 also isolated in the European Cup race in part. In the European Cup however, he remained well behind the points and also in the FIS races he could rarely classify for five years in the top ten.

After his move from Italian to the Canadian Ski Association at the beginning of the season 2004/ 05 the results improved. In December 2004, he won four Canadian FIS races in a row. In the Nor- Am Cup, the North American counterpart of the European Cup, he was able to classify from the start in the top 15. In the season 2005/ 06 Fresh succeeded in Nor- Am Cup of connection to the top. In the second season downhill in Lake Louise, he drove for the first time among the top three, and after a further three podium finishes in the Super- G and Downhill he celebrated on 14 February 2006 in the departure of Big Mountain his first victory. He won the downhill standings and reached in the standings to third place.

Since the season 2006/ 07 fresh starts in the World Cup. He made his debut on December 1 in the downhill in Val Gardena and three weeks later he got a 29 in the Super- G in Hinterstoder in his fourth World Cup race, the first points. After he remained well behind the points again in his next three races, he reached on March 10, 2007 in the departure of Kvitfjell surprisingly twelfth place and therefore his best ever World Cup result. In the Nor- Am Cup he won this winter the Super -G in Apex as well as the departure in Big Mountain and came two more times on the podium. He reached as in the previous third overall, but in the discipline ratings he fell on the descent to the fourth and Super- G at the seventh place back.

In early April 2007, Fresh injured in the Super G training at Whistler Mountain on his right knee. After surgery, he could again begin to ski training after nearly six -month break. The following winter he did not achieve the results of the previous years because of the training residue. In the Nor- Am Cup he came in the 2007/ 08 season only once in the top three in the World Cup and he remained in his seven races without points. In the winter of 2008/ 09 he was in the Nor - Am Cup winning both the giant slalom in Panorama and go three more times on the podium. He reached the second place in both the giant slalom as well as in the overall standings. But with his three World Cup races, he remained again without points.

On December 6, 2009 Freshly clinched third place, 21 in the giant slalom in Beaver Creek for the first time in two and a half years back World Cup points, but then again he remained for two years without a World Cup points. The 2009/10 season he had to quit due to an injury in February. He suffered in training in Nakiska a torn ACL in his left knee. In winter 2010/11 came alongside fresh FIS races to two races in the World Cup, seven starts in the Nor -Am and four starts in the European Cup. In two of the Nor- Am race he achieved a place in the top five. In the winter of 2011/12 was able to increase fresh again. He won with 23 rank in the Super- G at Crans- Montana and 28th in Super G Kvitfjell twice World Cup points, reaching in the north -Am Cup in the same discipline for the first time in three years, podiums and a victory. In the super -G standings of the Nor -Am Cup 2011/12 he was third.
