Jehu (Prophet)

Jehu (Hebrew יֵהוּ probably a short form of יֵהוֹהוּ " YHWH he is " ) was an Old Testament prophet. He lived in the 9th century BC and, according to 1 Kings was (1 Kings 16.1 LUT), a son of Hanani.

His surviving in the Old Testament speeches were directed against Baasha, king of Israel (1 Kings 16LUT ), and Jehoshaphat, king of Judah (2 Chronicles 29LUT ), whose historian he was probably (2 Chronicles 20.34 LUT).
