The Jeneberang ( Indonesian: Sungai Jeneberang ) is an approximately 75 km long river in south-western half of the island of Sulawesi. The watershed has an area of ​​760 square kilometers.

The river rises near the 2833 meters high mountain Bawakaraeng and runs through the districts of Gowa and Takalar up to the port city of Makassar, where it flows into the Strait of Makassar. The river had flooded the city regularly.

About 40 miles downstream is the finished in 1999, 73 meters high dam Bilibili with a reservoir capacity of 380 million cubic meters.

At noon on March 26, 2004 at the headwaters of Jeneberang a landslide, when a rock layer at the crater of Bawakaraeng sparked occurred. About 32 people lost their lives.
