Jenišov

Jenišov ( German Janessen ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers west of the center of Karlovy Vary and Karlovy Vary belongs to Okres.

Geography

Jenišov is located on the edge of the Sokolov basin on the right side of the creek Chodovský creek on a hill. To the southwest, the scale on the Kellersberg former slag heap Loket, under the sooner the village Podhoří was raised. To the south lies the hilly raw ( Hornberg, 582 m). The railway line Chomutov - Cheb heads north past the village, the nearest railway station is two kilometers east in Dvory. To the south is the expressway to the R6 -developed section of State Road 6 / e 48 from the State Road 20 / E 49 branches between Jenišov and Karlovy Vary - západ, to the south.

Neighboring towns are Zátiší and Pocerny in the north, Stara Role in the northeast, Dvory in the east, in the southeast Tašovice, Pod Raw in the south, Hory, Loučky and Nové Saddleback in the southwest, Chranišov in the west and Na Cechu and Mírová in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in the year 1390th Jenišov belonged to the estates of the city Elbogen. After the Battle of White Mountain in 1623 the village was confiscated. Until the start of mining Janessen was a purely agricultural village. In 1806, the merchant Josef Kalesánský Paul acquired the license for the mining of brown coal and opened the coal mine " Mariasorg ". 1822 followed the pit " Anton- Andreas", whose owner Anton Hipp man. 1847 bought back the city Elbogen Janessen.

After the abolition of patrimonial Janessen formed including Tashkent joke from 1850 onwards a municipality in the district of Sokolov. In the second half of the 19th century opened up more brown coal mines. 1855 was the " Wilhelmine ", 1859, the mine " Florian " and 1863 the "Catherine ". In this period was erected on the first steam engines, first on the " Wilhelmine ", 1864 on the " Midsummer - mine " and a year later on the " Mariasorg ".

The inclusion of rail traffic between Karlovy Vary and Cheb through the Buštěhrad Railway Company ( BEC ) in 1870 led to a revival of the coal industry and new markets for the lignite. 1870 was the " Mariasorg " the greatest place in the pit. 1872 opened the pit "Emma". As of 1880, the village belonged to the districts Haselbeint and Tashkent joke to Karlovy Vary Region. Opened in 1896, between the horn, Janessen and Tashkent wit the bill " Poldi ", from who led a Bleichert levitation train to Chodau station. 1895 "Emma" and in 1899 the pit " Andreas - Caroli " was shut down. At the turn of the 20th century, most of the old mines were closed and dismantled and the mines " Poldi " and " Caroli's Midsummer " promoted the bulk of the coal. In the " Caroli's Midsummer " in the year 1900 104 miners were employed. Overall, there were at that time 19 mines. 1901 originated in Janessen a brother checkout. Due to exhaustion of the deposits included in 1927 the bill " Poldi " and a year later the " Caroli's Midsummer ".

The global economic crisis led to illegal mining operations by the unemployed. On November 2, 1929, the police arrested the " Poldi " 35 people who had dug there for coal. In the " Wilhelmine " built almost 300 colliers from a seam in the protection pillar of the state road from Karlovy Vary to Cheb. The resulting landslide causing the road led in the 1930s for the permanent cessation of mining in Janessen.

In 1930, the municipality had 2507 inhabitants. As a result of the Munich Agreement in 1938 Janessen was annexed by the German Reich. 1939 lived 2487 people in Janessen. From 1938 to 1945, the community was part of the German district of Karlovy Vary and came to the end of the Second World War back to Czechoslovakia. In 1949, the district Tašovice into an independent municipality. From 1949 to 1960 Jenišov belonged to Okres Karlovy Vary - okolí. Since 1961, the community is part of the Okres Karlovy Vary. From 1975 to 1990 Jenišov was a district of Karlovy Vary. Since 1990, the community is again.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Jenišov Jenišov ( Janessen ) and Pod Raw and the settlement Zátiší ( Haselbeint ).

Attractions

  • Chapel of St.. Anna set up, rededicated to the end of the 19th century and after the repair of 1947 by the Archbishop of Prague Josef Beran. Between 1991 and 1993 there was a reconstruction of the affected from the sponge structure.
  • Majvals oak; the winter oak tree with a trunk circumference of 3.95 m in 1.30 m height is since 2004 a memorial tree
  • Summer Oak at the company Borel has protected a circumference of 3.83 m and is since 2004
  • The Jenišover oak on the old school yard is a summer oak with 3.52 girth. On July 30, 2005 broke two branches in a storm. Since September 2005, the tree is protected.
