Jennie Tuttle Hobart

Jennie Tuttle Hobart ( born April 30, 1848 in Paterson, New Jersey; † January 8, 1941 ) was the wife of Garret Augustus Hobart, the former Vice President of the United States.

Life

She was born as the daughter of the lawyer Socrates Tuttle and was raised in her birthplace. 1869 she married the distinguished lawyer and politician Garret A. Hobart. The couple had two children. During the vice-presidency of her husband, she often had the duties of the First Lady perceive as their health was very bad. After her husband was died during his term of office, she returned to Paterson, where she was involved in the community.

She is buried at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson.
