Jens Scheer

Jens Scheer (* May 30, 1935 in Hamburg, † July 18, 1994 in Bremen ) was a nuclear physicist and anti-nuclear activists.

Scheer studied physics and astronomy in Hamburg and Heidelberg, then went to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Berkeley (USA) and then became a researcher and Radiation Protection Officer at the Hahn-Meitner -Institut Berlin. In the course of the '68 movement, he became involved in the Communist Party and in the anti- nuclear movement. Due to his political activities had become a Professor Scheer between about 1975 and 1985 had to fight against occupational and home bans at the University of Bremen. After the Chernobyl disaster Scheer was asked as an expert roundtable discussions and events.

Scheer employed in his last years, especially with the radioactive low-level radiation and undertook the early 1990s, along with Ernest J. Stern Glass various lecture tours through Germany. The main focus, he was also with new approaches to quantum mechanics (see David Bohm and Bohmian mechanics).
