Jeolla

Jeolla -do is the name of a former province in Korea. She lay in the southwest of the peninsula and had Jeonju as its capital.

Jeolla was the time of the Goryeo dynasty as Jeollaju -do and was renamed at the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty in the early 15th century. The name was formed from the names of the cities of Jeonju and Naju (nn is in Korean to ll ). 1894 began here the Donghak rebellion, a peasant revolt. 1896 originated from the province of today's South Korean provinces of Jeollabuk -do and Jeollanam -do.
