Wariner at the 2007 World Cup

Jeremy Mathew Wariner ( born January 31, 1984 in Irving, Texas) is an American track and field athlete. It was the first time 2004 Olympic gold medalist and multiple world champion in the 400 -meter run and in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

Sports career

Wariner had his breakthrough at the U.S. Trials 2004, the U.S. track and field qualifier battles as he won the 400-meter superior. Up to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, where he expected, won the gold medal in his specialty distance, Wariner had never been to Europe. With his final time of 44.00 seconds, which for him was a personal best, he also lined up in the list of fastest 400 m runner of all time.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he won the 400-meter run behind his compatriot LaShawn Merritt, the silver medal. In the 4 x 400 - meter relay race Wariner won the Olympic gold medal with the U.S. team. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 he was defeated in the 400 m final as a year before his compatriot LaShawn Merritt and ended up with 54/100 seconds behind the silver medal. Along with Merritt, Angelo Taylor and Kerron Clement, however, he won the world title in Berlin in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

Wariner was nominated for the 4 x 400 - meter relay of the Olympic Summer Games in 2012, but suffered a few days before the competition a muscular injury and could not compete.
